Skrivet av: Mdu 23 mars 08:50We started good on the soccer front this year. Last month we played with Mlokothwa High school and won 2-0 , went to Ulundi to play in the tournament to celebrate the world cup. Our performance was good because two of our players were selected to represent the region in a follow up tournament that was held in Durban .
I am looking forward to do well in my studies inorder to achieve my childhood ambition to study BCom.

Hello everyone
Skrivet av: Tingsryds FF 28 oktober 19:43Dear Friends, we are getting closer to the winter now here in Sweden, but so far we havent seen any snow down here in the south of Sweden, but in the northern part they have snow. Our team ended on the second place in our serie, which we are quite happy about. Right now we have a hold, which means that we dont practice football for about a month. After that we start to practice indoors. Some of us are longing for the winter, when the snow come. This week we have time off from school, it´s called the Autumn-semester.
We are looking forward to see photos of you togehter with Sarah.
Take care and we hope that you and Sarah had a great time together/Yours sincerly Karin

Hey girls!
Skrivet av: Sarah Storck 06 oktober 16:41I hope all is well with you. I have been very bad at updating the blog with details of what I do. But it has its explanations. I had my second knee surgery and I've moved down to Malmo. So it's been a huge shift for me. Both the move but also to operate at the same time, they get mixed feelings. But now I'm on the track again and I have recently started to ride!
Football is very good for my girls (LdB)! We have taken up with 9 points and is now just 2 points behind Linköping. With 4 rounds left to play so it looks very promising. I believe in National Championships!
The weather has also been suggested on here in Sweden. It's getting winter and they are very cold and windy. But I try to keep out these 5 days I have left in Sweden, too late, I am down to the South Africans! So I hope you have warm weather to buy me.
I look very much forward to coming down to South Africans, have a more genuine picture of who you are, how you live, how you train and how talented you are! So I say as I said before, play with a smile girls and see you soon!
Sarah

Skrivet av: Tingsryds FF 26 september 18:30How nice to hear from you and see your photos.
Today we played our last match for this season. We won with 7 to 0 against at team called LSK. It felt very good to end the season with a victory. On friday we will meet to celebrate this season together. This autumn has been much warmer than it usually is - it has almost felt as the summer is still here (over 20 degrees C).
Bye for now/

Phumanyova
Skrivet av: Mdu 09 september 13:50I am Nokwanda Zulu, 15 years old doing grade 10 at Phumanyova. I am holding midfielder very strong on both feet. I believe that girls should get more involve in sport in order to change the perception in our communities that boys are always good and girls should follow behind.
I wish to show my talent in the national team although I want to complete my high school first. I enjoy eating chicken curry and rice and my favourite colour whenever I buy clothes has been always yellow.
Hope to here from you

Phumanyova
Skrivet av: Mdu 09 september 13:48I am Thubelihle, grade 8 learner from Phumanyova High. I like soccer and I am seeing myself reaching the skies through soccer. I have not written to you since our school does not have internet but our soccer coach has helped us to communicate with you.
In south Africa September is the beginning of summer and the month September is a heritage month; that means we hold events to celebrate our heritage e.g. Reed dance, calling of our ancestors to bring rain and honouring our fallen heroes. I will be participating in the reed dance this weekend and hope to send photos next week.
Take care

visit at phumanyova
Skrivet av: Mdu 04 september 12:49Nongoma is one of the most talk about areas in KZN due to the fact that Zulu Monarch (His Majesty Goodwill kaZwelithini) lives there with his 6 wives.
You will find most of the schools are named after the local prominent person(s). This will apply to Phumanyova, which was named after the local landlord (induna) .The school is located closer to a rural town of Nongoma. This part of the area is the most impoverished in the province of KwaZulu Natal.
The visit in the school was made so interesting because the students were preparing for the cultural competition to take place during that weekend. There was a buzz in the school, students walking around organising themselves for the competition. The principal was so excited to have me witnessing what the kids were doing in school.
Hearing that the Friends For Life cultural exchange program is all about putting the school in the world map he committed himself to work hand in hand with the teacher responsible to make the programme successful in the school.
School children in the rural areas are not exposed to computers or Internet per se but the good about the ambassador of Phumanyova, she promised to make it a point that with all challenges they will put something in blog twice a week.
Regards
Mdu

visit at prince bhokwe
Skrivet av: Mdu 04 september 12:47The school is situated in the same area as Phumanyova. It is named after the Prince of Mandlakazi clan, one of the biggest descendants of the late Cetshwayo, the grand-grand father of sitting Inkosi his majesty King Zwelithini.
My visit was characterised by the singing and dancing of the students, as they were preparing for the cultural competition that was taking during the weekend. I was warmly welcomed by the Principal, Mrs Zulu, who took me around to see the pupils practising and she also introduced the teacher responsible for the program. She showed interest of being part of the Friends For Life cultural exchange program, although the school does not have a single computer, but together they promise to collect all the stories from the students and put them in the blog in the nearest Internet café at Nongoma Town.
Walking to school.
The ambassador was born in the area and attended lower grades in the area, it will be interesting to note the info that will be provided by the learners under her leadership.
Regards,
Mdu

Phumanyova
Skrivet av: Admin LdBFC 02 september 12:29We in the Phumanyova women’s soccer team are aged 12 years and upwards. In our team we are very friendly - we love other people and we like to play with others.
On June 21st we played the LdB tournament in the Nongoma-area, and as always we took position number one. From the round robin we went to Jozini to play with three other LdB-area winners. We lost because we faced tough players. In our team we have many skilful players: the strikers who are scoring our goals are Mshangazike, Thube, Rose and Nokwanda; the midfield consists of Mpume, Phemu, Luwi and the backline players are Mqulusi, China, Nkoskhona and Portia. We work hard as a team to achieve what we want.
Each and every year, on May 21st, we have a cultural event with zulu dance, gospel-singing. We compete with other schools, and we always get a good position, since we are working hard to get what we want.
Now we are preparing for our examinations, since we are starting to write on October. If we have free time we still go to play in the pitch so we can stay tough and not gain weight.
